![]() Note: byuu, the author of this program, has more recently put out an updated UPS patcher, upset, as a replacement for Tsukuyomi UPS. The name is an homage to one of the most well known and polished IPS patchers around, Lunar IPS by FuSoYa (Tsukuyomi is the name of the moon god in Japanese mythology). Nintenlord - For making this utility and README. People - For shared their opinions which led to the creation of NUPS. Credits byuu - For creating UPS format and the original patcher. This original UPS patcher is called Tsukuyomi UPS. V1.1 Added the ability to get details about the patch. ![]() UPS is completely future proof in that regard. But thanks to a condensed pointer encoding method, the file size can be infinite. The spec for UPS supports any file size, though the binary is currently limited to 4GB files due to libc limitations. ![]() The difficulty of implementing it is equal to IPS (it has trickier pointers, but no RLE magic). It is designed to be a direct replacement for IPS and to resolve all the problems that can occur with IPS, mainly it adds the so called checksum validation of the original file, which is being patched and therefore prevents any false patching and bugged roms (due to false patching). The USP patching format is different from NINJA/xdelta/etc. ![]()
